The 2016-17 budget proposal from Governor Brown will be of critical importance to schools. The recent analysis from the Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) highlights significant state revenues beyond those assumed in the 2015-16 Budget Act, as well as higher than projected revenues in out-years. Combined, schools can expect billions in one-time and on-going funding in the Governor’s January Budget proposal. Our team will provide a comprehensive fiscal and political analysis of the proposal along with a focus on efforts to extend Prop 30 tax rates in 2016.
